Binge-watch: watching multiple episodes of a television program in rapid succession, typically by means of DVDs or digital streaming.
January binge show of the month: Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events
What it’s about: A long time ago, in a generation where people talked face-to-face without the digital platform of their computer screen, there was once a film called A Series of Unfortunate Events. Released in 2004 with an all-star cast of Jim Carrey and Meryl Strep, young rebels and tired-youth sympathized with the orphaned Baudelaire children as they traveled form caretaker to caretaker following the tragic deaths of their parents. This is the Netflix version. Don’t let us down.
Who’s in it: Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), and some up-and-coming American kid actors that you’ll probably forget about once you finish your binge-watch.
Why you should watch it: Truly, this might be the post-Hunger-Games and Harry Potter filler our generation needs. This story has darkness, humour, drama, magic. It can satisfy the missing hole while the big kids (who were small when it first came out) wait for the next season of Game of Thrones to come out.
Where to watch it: Netflix on January 13th – and any other illegal streaming website you can find.
How many seasons: 1 (8 episodes)
